Vancouver experiences

Even the worldliest traveller can find themselves in embarrassing situations abroad and you could say this happened to me in Vancouver last year. I was acting like a complete tourist with my map in front of me, starring up at the buildings trying to find my way back to my own hotel! I was so caught up in finding all these specific tourist attractions throughout the day that I did not even think of how I would get back to my hotel.

After a few minutes of starring in confusion at my map and I plopped down on a bench, which of course had some chewed gum on it, and starred at the different buildings trying to remember where I was. I had gone charter fishing, to the Vancouver Art Gallery and to check out the Grouse Mountain attractions all in one day so of course I was a bit disoriented. The worst part of this story is that I was sitting right in front of my own hotel but it was so tall I couldn’t see the sign.

Yes, I felt like an idiot! Things happen when you are travelling and that is what creates an adventure of a lifetime. I have been back to Vancouver many times and have not had that problem again! When you decide to go out for a day of sightseeing, take note on how you got there to avoid this embarrassing tourist blunder!
